The Media Is Gaslighting You About Biden’s Lawfare Against Trump

It never ceases to amaze me how easily the left thinks they can rewrite history. During a tense CNN exchange Friday night, host Abby Phillip pressed Scott Jennings on whether he was comfortable with what she claimed was President Donald Trump directing who should—or shouldn’t—be prosecuted. Jennings insisted he had no problem with the head of the executive branch “expressing his opinion” to the rest of the executive branch, emphasizing that grand juries still make the final decisions. Phillip pressed further, asking if he would accept the same behavior from former President Joe Biden, even though, she claimed, Biden hadn’t actually done it.

“Joe Biden actually didn't do this, but had he done that, you would've been fine with it?” she asked.

The problem is, Biden actually did.

At a press conference following the 2022 midterm elections, Biden was asked about concerns from foreign leaders regarding Trump, who was preparing for another presidential campaign. One reporter framed the question around how Biden could reassure the international community that Trump would not regain power. Biden chuckled before responding and, when pressed further, said: “Well, we just have to demonstrate that he will not take power by — if we — if he does run. I’m making sure he, under legitimate efforts of our Constitution, does not become the next President again.”

This statement signaled that Biden was willing to use the machinery of the federal government to prevent Trump from winning a second term. And that threat quickly materialized into a full-blown lawfare strategy, including federal investigations on dubious pretenses, the raid on Trump’s home personally approved by Biden’s attorney general, and much more.

The Biden administration’s involvement wasn’t limited to federal efforts. In Manhattan, former Biden DOJ official Matthew Colangelo joined Alvin Bragg’s office immediately after Trump announced his 2024 run—raising clear questions about coordination. In Georgia, Fani Willis’s team met with White House officials twice during their investigation into Trump’s alleged election interference. And in New York, Attorney General Letitia James visited the Biden White House three times.

The administration wasn’t merely observing these cases—they were quietly leaning in, ensuring Trump’s political opponents had federal support. Last year, Fox News’ Jesse Watters highlighted this pattern of coordination. He noted that the Biden White House confirmed to the show that James had visited “not once, not twice, but three times. Before she sued the president, while she was suing the president and then once to see Kamala.”

Watters emphasized that New York wasn’t an outlier. District Attorney Fani Willis in Georgia “also visited the White House, partied with Kamala and others.” He added that just a week later, the grand jury’s forewoman in her case—described by Watters as “the giggly Wiccan… the grand jury’s wacky forewoman”—recommended charges against Trump.

He also raised conflicts of interest within Willis’s office. Remember Nathan Wade? Willis appointed him a prosecutor despite the fact he had “never tried a felony,” handed him “almost $1 million in taxpayer cash and said, go get him,” and took him on “steamy Caribbean cruises.” Wade also met with the White House counsel, “even billing them,” as part of this coordination.

When Willis wasn’t allegedly colluding, she “had Adam Schiff on speed-dial,” working with him on the Jan. 6 case to help build the Georgia prosecution. Watters summarized pointedly: “It’s almost as if Biden’s running the Trump prosecutions from the White House.”

Finally, he underscored the broader point: “All cases against Trump [were] brought after he announced. All cases [were] brought by Democrat prosecutors. But Biden insists his political rival is being prosecuted independently.”

When the left claims Biden had no role in the lawfare against Trump, it is gaslighting the American people. The fact remains that Biden’s fingerprints were all over these attacks, and he’s on record saying he would use the power of the government to stop Trump. That’s why Trump’s efforts to hold corrupt Democrats accountable is so important.

And I haven’t even gotten into all the prosecution’s against Trump allies.
