Democrats Don’t Get to Lecture Us on ‘The Science’

For years, Democrats have wrapped themselves in the mantle of “science,” wielding it as both a shield and a weapon in political battles. But scratch beneath the slogan, and the record tells a different story—one riddled with double standards, dogma, and a refusal to grapple honestly with inconvenient facts. This raises a very troubling question: is it even possible anymore to have an honest discussion about medical and health issues with people who treat science as a political prop?

This week, Trump sent the left into a frenzy by warning women that there may be a link between taking acetaminophen during pregnancy and autism. Is there a link? Well, it’s kind of complicated. Some studies say yes. For example, the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai has reviewed data from 46 separate studies involving more than 100,000 participants. They found that prenatal exposure to acetaminophen may significantly contribute to higher risks of autism spectrum disorder and ADHD in children. However, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists insists there’s no definitive proof and worries media coverage could spark “alarmism.”

In the end, all we can say definitively is that some studies show a link while others show no link. Other factors may have a role. I’m not going to sit here and tell you that there is a link and Trump is 100% correct. I also can't say that the left is correct either. And honestly, their track record on anything to do with science or health is really, really bad. It would be nice if we could put politics and aside and remember that that the real goal here is to find out why autism is so prevalent in the United States. We should be willing to put petty political considerations aside and work together toward this goal.

ICYMI: Trump’s Latest Move to Prevent a Shutdown Is Brilliant

Sadly, I don’t think an honest debate on risks and tradeoffs can happen anymore because the left politicized science into a dirty game of dogma. They’ve already decided that, because this is a Trump administration thing, they’re against it 100%. Meanwhile, pregnant leftists are downing Tylenol on social media just to own Trump.

These are not serious people, and we’ve known this for a long time. Remember, they pushed masks and social distancing rituals long after real-world data demolished their effectiveness. They forced COVID shots on children who never needed them. They went to war on hydroxychloroquine just because Trump said it might help. They cherry-pick climate data to push their doomsday narratives and turn a blind eye to the basic biological reality that life begins at conception.

How exactly can we have an honest discussion about this with people who believe experimental transgender procedures are “medically necessary,” and that men can get pregnant?

I want to have an honest discussion with Democrats about the potential link between acetaminophen and rising autism rates. But let’s be honest: these are not the people you invite to a good-faith conversation about anything to do with science or health. They forfeited any moral authority on these issues when they turned science into a political weapon. If you can’t tell the difference between biological facts and ideological fantasy, you don’t get to lecture the rest of us about who is or isn’t following the science.
