It’s no secret that the Democratic Party’s approval ratings are suffering big time, while Trump and the Republican Party are more popular than ever. But instead of facing reality and admitting they’re their own worst enemy, Democrats are desperately flinging darts at the board, hoping one lands on a winning narrative. So far, they’re coming up empty.
The media has tried pushing such narratives that the Trump administration is plagued by chaos, that there are tensions brewing being Trump and Elon Musk, and that there’s a wave of Trump voter regret. Another hilarious narrative is that Trump isn’t running his own administration.
“As its influence within the federal government grows daily, one question routinely emerges about the Department of Government Efficiency: Who is in charge?” asks ABC News in a post on X. The post links to an entire article dedicated to the question of who’s really in charge of the government.
It’s ironic, really. Starting with the 2020 election, the mainstream media showed a shocking level of complacency, willingly ignoring Biden’s cognitive decline. This complacency went into a full-blown cover-up during the Biden administration. Rather than engaging in responsible journalism and asking uncomfortable questions when Biden demonstrated diminished mental health, they opted instead to protect Biden from scrutiny and dubbed any questions about his mental health a right-wing conspiracy theory.

If it hadn’t been for the June debate, when Biden’s cognitive state became painfully obvious to voters, they would have continued the charade. His hesitations and gaffes were unmissable, sparking legitimate concerns about whether he was fit for office. But even after that, the bigger question was curiously missing from their reporting: Who really was running the country for Joe Biden?
We now know that a select group of Biden loyalists, including Jill Biden, was running the White House, and that after the June debate, Hunter Biden was calling the shots. According to former DNC insider Lindy Li, Hunter essentially took over White House operations after his father’s disastrous debate performance. In an interview with podcaster Shawn Ryan, she revealed that, after the debate, “Hunter basically commandeered the White House. He sat in on all of the White House top-level meetings.”
“We had a former cocaine addict sitting in on the most sensitive meetings of the most consequential and most important government in world history,” she observed. Does that sit right with you?"
It doesn’t. But what's even worse is that this story received virtually no attention in the mainstream media. To this day, they’re still covering up Biden’s decline — and denying their role in covering it up. That’s what makes their questions about “who’s really running things” today so ironic and hypocritical.
We know that as much as Trump is delegating responsibility, the buck stops with him. But for four years, who was really making decisions for Joe Biden? The mainstream media knew he wasn’t all with it, but they couldn’t be bothered to ask that question.
