Trump 47: The Revenge Term?

Even before Donald Trump became president, the radical left went to extraordinary lengths to stop him. Bogus allegations of colluding with Russia prompted the Obama administration to spy on him. Heck, they didn't even wait for him to take the oath to start undermining him. Before Trump even took office, Democrats conspired to impeach him. Now, they’ve literally weaponized the federal government and the legal system to barrage him with bogus criminal charges and legal challenges to remove him from the ballot in states nationwide.

There is perhaps no other American political figure who has been the target of such immense political persecution. And that may very well propel him back to the presidency. This absolutely terrifies the left because they’ve opened up Pandora’s box, and, well, you know how that goes. Trump, when he ran for president in 2016 against Hillary Clinton, promised to “lock her up” for her various crimes -- but he didn’t exactly follow through on that. It’s safe to say that all bets are off if Trump makes it back to the White House in November.

According to a recent CBS News/YouGov survey, most likely GOP primary voters want Trump to get revenge by investigating his opponents if he’s reelected, including 55% of MAGA Republicans and 30% of non-MAGA Republicans.

It would certainly be justified after everything they’ve put him through. That said, according to Trump, that’s not part of his second term agenda.

"First of all, a lot of people would say that that’s not so bad. Look what they did: Russia Russia, Russia hoax. The FBI. Twitter hoax. The 51 intelligence agents hoax. All of these different hoaxes that they did. I mean, you know, a lot of people would say, that’s probably quite normal,” Trump said during a town hall event last week.

“I’m not going to have time for retribution,” he continued. "We’re going to make this country so successful again; I’m not going to have time for retribution. And remember this: Our ultimate retribution is success.”

Trump is probably right that cleaning up the mess of the Biden administration will take up too much time for him to be able  to focus on getting "revenge” on his political enemies, but that doesn't mean that corrupt Democrats should get a free pass. No, they've gotten their free pass long enough, and they deserve to be held to the same standards as everyone else and be held accountable for their corruption.

I’d like to believe that Americans want a fair and impartial justice system, and there shouldn’t be one set of rules for Republicans and another for Democrats. We know that Joe Biden and his family have been protected by the Department of Justice for years. That has to stop—not out of revenge but out of a need for Americans to have faith in the fairness and objectivity of those tasked with enforcing our nation’s laws. We have to purge the system of partisan prosecutors and judges. That is how we save our democracy. That is how we save America. That is how we get revenge on the Democrats.
