There may not be any love between the Bush family and Trump, but President George W. Bush’s former vice president apparently has no problem helping Trump get reelected. Despite past differences on foreign policy, Dick Cheney is set to appear at a fundraiser to support Trump’s 2020 reelection campaign and the Republican National Committee on Monday. Former vice president Richard B. Cheney and his daughter, Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.), are to appear at a lunch fundraiser Monday in support of President Trump’s 2020 reelection campaign and the Republican National Committee, according to an invitation to the event.

The luncheon fundraiser in Jackson, Wyo., will feature White House advisers Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, along with acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney as “special guests,” according to the invitation, which was obtained by The Washington Post.

The former vice president has been critical of the Trump administration’s foreign policy moves. At a private gathering this year, Richard Cheney pressed Vice President Pence on a number of the administration’s foreign policy decisions, particularly the Trump administration’s isolationist stances.

Cheney has criticized the Trump administration’s hard line toward U.S. allies in NATO, a posture that he said “feeds this notion on the part of our allies overseas, especially in NATO, that we’re not long for that continued relationship,” The Post reported.

Nonetheless, Cheney and his daughter, the current chair of the House Republican Conference, are to appear at the fundraiser Monday for Trump Victory, a joint committee that raises money for Trump’s 2020 campaign and the RNC.

Given the negativity that has come from the Bush family toward President Trump, it is nice to see the Cheneys behind him. Also expected to attend the fundraiser are RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, Co-Chairman Tommy Hicks Jr., National Finance Chairman Todd Ricketts, Trump’s 2020 campaign manager Brad Parscale, and senior campaign advisor (and former Fox News personality) Kimberly Guilfoyle.
