Since Donald Trump is going to be impeached and convicted any day now — just ask the Democrats and the NeverTrumpumpkins! — we might as well start planning for the 2020 election. So which of the brave social-justice, box-ticking warriors will challenge Mike Pence a few years hence? Don’t laugh:
Democratic senators with White House ambitions are leading the charge to sink President Trump’s Cabinet picks. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand is at the top. The New York senator has voted against 12 of Trump’s Cabinet picks and is the only Democrat to vote against Gen. James Mattis, the president’s pick to lead the Pentagon.
Sens. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Cory Booker (D-N.J.) and Bernie Sanders (Vt.) are close behind, as all three have voted against 11 of Trump’s Cabinet picks.
All four senators are seen as possible contenders to run for the White House against Trump in 2020.
Wow. Fauxcahonta Warren and Red Bernie are superannuated, Gillibrand is a talking dummy for Chuck Schumer and nobody to this day actually knows where Cory Booker actually lives. But wait — there’s more!
Sens. Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.), Tom Udall (D-N.M.) and Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.) have also voted against 11 of Trump’s nominees. Heinrich is up for reelection in 2018.
If you’ve never heard of any of those guys, you’re not alone.
Freshman Sen. Kamala Harris (Calif.), another Democrat frequently mentioned as a potential 2020 contender, has voted against 10 of Trump’s nominees.
Harris has been a U.S. senator from the Peoples’ Republic of California for all of two months.
Speaking out forcefully against Trump has been a must for anyone interested in taking advantage of the left’s anger over the president. “What matters most about these early days of the Trump presidency is the degree into which people… stand up with backbone,” said Adam Green, the co-founder of the Progressive Change Campaign Committee (PCCC).
And when you hear the words “progressive change,” make sure you have both your wallet and your personal firearm, because this is pure cultural-Marxist-speak.
