Never one to let little things like slumping chip sales or a worldwide economic recession get in the way, Intel is rolling out its new Nehalam processor. With IT spending at a near standstill, sales of the latest Intel offering may be slow to build. Then again, with a war chest like Intel’s, the company can afford to be patient. Weakened demand and economic downturn has created an R&D environment that plays well to the financial strengths of Intel and may well provide the company some space from struggling competitors.
