Videogame Delayed Over Possible Slight To Muslims

The much anticipated release of LittleBigPlanet for the Sony play Station has been pushed back as developers re-track some background music over concerns the music may be offensive to Muslims. Pre-release reviews of the game were extremely enthusiastic, but British developers were alerted by a post to the Sony public Internet forum that the music in question contained several phrases from the Koran. Some Muslims consider mixing music with words from the Koran as “deeply offensive”, according to the post and in response, the developers have pushed back the release date so that they can fix the problem. In 2007, Sony wrestled with a similar problem as Anglican leaders objected to images in another of its video games. The company issued an apology but refused to recall the game and make changes as church leaders requested.
