In the wake of a the recent FCC ruling against the use of throttling to manage network traffic loads, Comcast has announced the details of a new plan to control traffic flow during peak use times. Under the new proposal, if a customer has been identified as a high volume user some of their activities could be delayed and the bandwidth given to lower volume users during congested times. The effort is hoped to provide all subscribers a fair share and access to bandwidth and speeds but rest assured that the howl from the bandwidth hogs will be immediate and loud.
