3G iPhone Connection Problems Chip-Related?

The search is on for the cause of the Apple iPhone connection problems and it looks like the troubles may be in the core of the phone itself. Stacey Higginbotham of GigaOm examines the issue and reports that the cause may be in the chips. If so, this could get ugly for Apple.
