Very interesting, if this NY Post report is true:
EPA chief Lisa Jackson suddenly resigned last week because she was convinced that President Obama is planning to green-light the controversial Keystone XL oil pipeline, The Post has learned.
“She was going to stay on until November or December,” said a Jackson insider. “But this changed it. She will not be the EPA head when Obama supports it [Keystone] getting built.”
…And if true: good news, and good riddance. I’ve got nothing against other people’s religions per se, but I get a little cranky when radical theocratic extremists like Jackson try to impose their bizarre Gaia-worship on the rest of us. And let’s not even get into the profoundly anti-scientific nature of the modern Greenies*. Hopefully, the next EPA head Obama appoints won’t be so addicted to fuzzy thinking as Lisa Jackson was…
Well, after Steven Chu, Ken Salazar, John Holdren, and Richard Windsor*, err Lisa Jackson, I’m not holding my breath, though perhaps Al Gore unilaterally declaring “Mission Accomplished” for radical environmentalism might give Jackson’s successor a few second thoughts. (Nahh — I’m only kidding myself if I believe that.)
And speaking of radial environmentalism, at Instapundit, Glenn Reynolds links to Walter Russell Mead’s post that fracking is safe in NY State, according to a recently leaked report, and adds, “Remember when the authorities used to cover up dangers? Now they’re covering up news that fracking is safe, because that harms their political agenda.”
Yes, that changed right around the same time the news media decided it was no longer in the business of actually reporting news, if it might harm their candidate du jour. And note how well the two stories dovetail:
