'Obama announces Terrorist Stimulus Plan'

As Jon of the Exurban League writes, “No, no, a thousand times NO:”

The United States will contribute $400 million in development aid to the Palestinian territories and work with Israel to loosen its embargo on Gaza, President Barack Obama said Wednesday.Obama’s announcement came after White House talks with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas. The money will be used to build housing, schools, water and health care systems in both the Palestinian Authority-controlled West Bank and Gaza, which is ruled by the Palestinian Islamic movement Hamas.

Obama called the situation in Gaza “unsustainable,” and said the United States would work with its European allies, Egypt and Israel to find a “new conceptual framework” for the Israeli blockade of Gaza.

“We agree Israelis have right to prevent arms from coming into Gaza,” Obama said. But he said “new mechanisms” were needed to allow more goods to reach the territory – and he repeated that the long-term solution was a permanent deal creating “a Palestinian state side-by-side with an Israel that is secure.”

Let me get this straight. Our economy has cratered. Unemployment is nearly 10 percent. The national debt is expected to exceed our gross national product by next year. And we’re giving $400,000,000 to our mortal enemies in Gaza?

$400,000,000 to the Hamas-led death cult allied with Iran and Syria? $400,000,000 to the people who celebrated the destruction of the twin towers? $400,000,000 to rain thousands more rockets upon Israeli women and children?

The Right, the Left and everyone in between needs to raise hell. This. Cannot. Happen.

Man, they’ll be partying hard at the Roots Club tonight.

On the other hand, the New York Times just ran an op-ed from Princeton University’s Peter Singer calling for the end of mankind on Earth. Perhaps Obama simply wants to give some walking around money to the group currently working hardest to make Peter and Pinch’s vision a reality, at least on a local level.

Related: The Weekly Standard is having a reader contest:

A reader, noting the Obama administration’s apparent endorsement of an international board of inquest to look into Israel’s (but not Turkey’s) role in the terrorist flotilla incident, suggests a contest to name an appropriate American participant in this show trial. Helen Thomas is too obvious. With that exception, have at it. Send suggestions to wws [at] weeklystandard.com. A blue-ribbon panel of experts (known only to us, and acting with the same impartiality and care as the international panel will demonstrate!) will judge the entries, which must be received by close of business on June 15.

Enjoy.

Heh.
