Dispatches from the Fickle Finger of Fate — or as Bob Owens dubs it, “Yes, We Cannibal!”
Michelle Malkin notes that the early reports on the finger-biting incident were less than clear as to which side was the biter, and which side the bitee:
MoveOn activists were involved and their accounts colored much of the early coverage.
It now appears that the biter was an Obamacare supporter and the victim was an Obamacare foe.
Thankfully, doctors were able to reattach the severed digit.
No need to imagine the horrified fulminations from the White House to the New York Times to MSNBC if it had been the other way around.
Ed Morrissey looks at the mayhem and the possible charges that both the biter and the bitee (who reportedly through a punch) might face.
Bob Owens rewrites the Obama-bots’ new motto: “Yes, We Can(nibal)!”
Opponents of socialized medicine must also adjust their chants:
Hands off my health care…and teeth off my hands!
Afterthought: President Obama has been telling Americans to make sure they get their shots.
Now, we know why!
Meanwhile, Michael Goldfarb of the Weekly Standard notes the strange dichotomy of Moveon.org:
A member of MoveOn.org bites off the finger off a conservative protester and MoveOn responds by calling the incident “regrettable.” The group’s spokesman also says that “MoveOn condemns violence in all forms.” Which is no doubt true, but also a deeply revealing statement from a group that was — from the first moments after 9/11 — opposed even military strikes against al Qaeda and the Taliban. These people would bite the fingers off conservatives who oppose the president’s health care plans, but they would condemn the U.S. military for killing terrorists if it wasn’t political suicide to do so.
Say, McGruff always advises homeowners to “take a bite of crime.” Has anybody heard from him lately?
