John Rosenthal writes that “In Dresden, Obama Does Not Disappoint … Germans.” Like the buildings being “tuned” on a regular basis by the sinister aliens in Dark City, the reality of Dresden’s bombing has morphed to suit whoever in power at any given moment repeatedly since 1945 (and gee, it’s just shocking how similar the Nazis and the East Germans used it for political gain, even down to their language). it’s the perfect place for the postmodern president who thinks that reality can be run through the Play-doh Fun Factory and reshaped for political gain.
