White House Won't Rule Out Clinton Pardon

Even though Hillary Clinton has not yet been charged with a crime, the White House on Wednesday refused to rule out the possibility that she could receive a pardon from President Obama before he leaves office.

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest failed to give a clear yes or no answer at the daily White House Press Briefing when asked whether Obama had considered using his executive power to get Clinton off the hook.

Via the New York Post:

“The president has offered clemency to a substantial number of Americans who were previously serving time in federal prisons,” Earnest said.

“And we didn’t talk in advance about the president’s plans to offer clemency to any of those individuals and that’s because we don’t talk about the president’s thinking, particularly with respect to any specific cases that may apply to pardons or commutations,” he added.

No charges have been filed against Clinton on the email matter, but as the New York Post points out, charges are unnecessary.

When President Gerald Ford pardoned his predecessor, Richard Nixon, in 1974, it was for any crimes Nixon might have committed against the US while he was president.

Meanwhile, according to The Daily Caller, it is full steam ahead for the Clinton Foundation probe in five FBI offices across the nation.

FBI agents across the country are continuing to actively pursue a broad political corruption investigation of the Clinton Foundation, a probe that is consuming the resources in the FBI’s Little Rock, Ark., field office where every agent assigned to public corruption matters now is working on the case, The Daily Caller News Foundation’s Investigative Group has learned.

“Everybody’s working the foundation in Little Rock,” a former senior FBI official told TheDCNF. There at least 10 agents involved, but it’s possible the Little Rock field office is “pulling bodies from other programs.”

The official previously told TheDCNF that an unprecedented FBI probe of the foundation was being waged in multiple cities, which TheDCNF reported in August. The other cities involved in the probe include New York, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles and Miami.

“Clinton Cash” author Peter Schweizer said on Fox Business Monday that the FBI is now focused on a longterm investigation into the Clinton Foundation scandal.
