With the recent marriage of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on everyone’s mind, it seemed like a good time to take a look at other famous couples. Unfortunately, many people take bets on how long any celebrity marriage will last. While Harry and Markle are probably in it for the long haul (did you see how he looked at her?!), there are plenty of weddings that are quickly followed by embarrassing divorces.

In the spirit of the kind of love that lasts forever (and endures children, job changes, public humiliation, fame and boatloads of money), let’s take a look at the most underrated couples who have found a way to make it last far longer than anyone ever anticipated. Here’s a toast to ever-lasting love!

Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick

These two are just as cute today as they were in 1997 when they got married. She was about to start her wildly successful stint on Sex and the City, and he just finished his run on Broadway in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. They have three children: James, and twins Marion and Tabitha.

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi

After DeGeneres came out to the world in 1997, she had a very public relationship with Anne Heche for nearly three years. But in 2004, she and de Rossi became a couple. When the same-sex marriage ban in California was lifted, the couple got married in 2008. While they don’t have any children, they do have several pets, and de Rossi also legally changed her name to Portia Lee James DeGeneres.

David and Victoria Beckham

This posh couple can sometimes seem too gorgeous for their own good. The soccer star (or football, depending on where you’re from) and former Spice Girl-turned internationally renowned fashion designer got married in 1999. They have since had four (equally gorgeous) children together, and have a whopping joint net worth of nearly $685 million. They showed up in dramatic dark outfits for the Royal Wedding. Of course they’re friends with the Royals. Obvi.

It’s hard to remember a time when these two weren’t together. They started dating in 2000, not long after Gellar starred in Cruel Intentions. They got engaged a year later and were married in 2002. They have two children together, and are still adorably in love to this day.

Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith

Will Smith was starring in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air when a young actress auditioned for the role of his girlfriend. It was Jada Pinkett. She was too short for the role, but it turns out that she was just right for Smith himself. They married in 1997, and have had two children together. Acting has become a family affair, since their son Jaden has starred opposite his father (in The Pursuit of Happyness) and their daughter Willow appeared in I Am Legend.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z

This power couple began dating after they collaborated on “03 Bonnie & Clyde.” Beyoncé played Jay-Z’s girlfriend in the video for the song, which sent gossipers into a tizzy. They married in 2008, and are the parents of Blue Ivy, and twins Rumi and Sir. Despite occasional rumors (and albums) suggesting that the couple has had troubles, they are very much together, and fabulous as always.

While shooting The Mexican in 2000, Roberts and the film’s cameraman, Moder, met. She was still dating actor Benjamin Bratt, and Moder was married to his former wife. After his divorce was finalized, he and Roberts got married in 2002. They have three children together and have put family front and center in their lives.
