Expect to See More 'Death-Culture' Abortion Scandals

Local Detroit news channel WXYZ reports that OB/GYN Michael Arthur Roth is under investigation for the contents of his car’s trunk: “14 containers of human tissue, possibly fetuses, medical equipment and large amounts of Fentanyl, a drug used for pain and sedation.”

The evidence suggests Dr. Roth may have been performing illegal abortions—in a country where abortion has been legal for over 40 years.

This should not surprise anyone. The abortion industry has a consistent history of scandal and unethical practices that frequently put women in harm’s way. In just the last two years we’ve seen a slew of abortion clinic scandals across the country:

  • In May of 2013 Philadelphia’s Dr. Kermit Gosnell made headlines when he was convicted on three counts of first-degree murder. Gosnell routinely ignored Pennsylvania laws banning abortions after 24 weeks gestation unless the health of the mother was at stake; he was found guilty of doing this 21 times. Unsanitary instruments were used in his clinic and dead babies were stored in “water jugs [and] pet food containers.” It really is no wonder these things happened, since he operated an abortion clinic without a single registered nurse on staff and a high school student served as a staff member.
  • In July of 2013 two abortion clinics in Ohio were forced to close after health inspectors found deplorable conditions. Unsanitary, rust- and mold-covered operation-room equipment, expired medications, and signed blank prescription pads in drawers were just three of the offenses. Definitely not the conditions anyone wants to see when they visit the doctor.
  • Earlier this year, seven videos were released showing Planned Parenthood officials walking some fine ethical, moral, and legal lines. Each video revealed what was—at the very least—repulsive footage of live baby brains being harvested, doctors discussing a desire to buy Lamborghinis using the money made aborting babies, and selling aborted baby parts without consent. While Planned Parenthood has a skilled legal team and marketing department working tirelessly to get the organization out of its legal hot waters, the wool has been pulled off the eyes of the American people. Seeing physicians sip their alcoholic drink of choice while flippantly talking about selling the parts of aborted babies is a terrible PR move that will not easily be undone.

And now this. Michael Arthur Roth is discovered driving around town with a trunk full of what is likely dead baby parts. Are we really surprised? A person who chose to go into the medical profession—presumably to help heal people and enhance their lives—decides to make his living killing babies. Day after day he goes into the office, reviews ultrasounds scans, sees beating hearts, measures those beating hearts and determines the gestational ages of the babies–knowing exactly what has developed at that stage–and then chooses to terminate those lives. Roth has made a career out of this legal homicide. We shouldn’t be surprised that such an individual has no qualms about driving around with baby parts in his trunk.

I have never lived in a country where abortion was not a legal option, but I am well aware of the arguments used in Roe v. Wade, the foremost being that if our country did not provide safe, legal facilities to obtain these procedures, desperate women would be bleeding out in back alleys after botched, illegal abortions. But look at all of the carnage and blood on our hands in just the past two years—let alone the forty years prior.

How much longer will we tolerate this death culture? How many more generations will only know abortion as a legal option? How many more innocent babies have to die before we put an end to this barbaric procedure? How many more women will be faced with life-ending or lifelong complications from abortions? How many more clinics will have to be closed down as a result of unsanitary conditions and under-qualified staff before we stop soliciting the pied piper of infant genocide? How many more of these horrific stories will have to break before Americans finally do something to stop it?
