IC 10 doesn’t have the sweeping arms of a spiral or the smooth shape of an elliptical. It’s an irregular galaxy—and a starburst galaxy, where new stars are forming at an unusually high rate.

The Cosmic Checkmark Nebula is comprised a large elongated molecular cloud (LBN 534) and the reflection nebula (VdB 158) lies in a dusty starry region in Andromeda. It is ~ 35 light years in length. (per Wiki)

I heard some astrophysicists talking about the strongest misconceptions they heard. One of them was that a galaxy is some kind of solid object, when it's actually just a bunch of stars in an orbit. Each star is light-years from the next.
