Virginia Gov. Abigail Spanberger, already infamous for her horrible policies, delivered the official Democrat response to Donald Trump’s State of the Union address. She blatantly lied about immigration enforcement just after her fellow Dems in Congress refused to honor victims of heinous illegal alien crime. At what point do we just call the Democrat Party a terror organization?
Spanberger had a whole series of hypocritical lies, including criticizing Trump on affordability, even though she is already planning many more onerous taxes for Virginia citizens. And at a time when assaults on Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers are up 1,347%, she accused Trump of sending “poorly trained federal agents into our cities, where they have arrested and detained American citizens and people who aspire to be Americans — and they have done it without a warrant.”
The falsehoods contained just in that statement are legion. First of all, federal officers do not have to have a warrant to arrest even a suspected illegal alien (see 8 U.S. Code § 1357). Secondly, ICE does not arrest American citizens unless those citizens illegally interfere with federal operations, which makes them felons (e.g., see 18 U.S. Code § 111). Thirdly, aspiring to be American does not make you any less illegal, and in fact is a silly definition. Many illegal aliens happily spend decades in America without ever even trying to become citizens. They don’t respect our laws; they simply want freebies.
But what the propaganda from Spanberger really reflects is her fanatical dedication to protecting illegal aliens from authorities, which is also evident in her refusal in Virginia to allow police to cooperate with ICE. As an example of just how deadly such policies can be, Fairfax County (Va.) Commonwealth Attorney Steve Descano dropped murder charges against El Salvadoran illegal alien and serial criminal Marvin Fernando Morales-Ortez in order to release the illegal alien in spite of an ICE detainer. Hours later, Morales-Ortez murdered a man in Reston.

And Spanberger is now enforcing policies similar to those Fairfax sanctuary policies across the state of Virginia, ensuring more tragedies like that will occur. It is also, by the way, against the law to protect and harbor illegal aliens, so Spanberger herself is arguably violating federal law whenever she enforces sanctuary policies (see 8 U.S. Code § 1324).
This is why it is so terribly important that the Trump administration never back down an inch from immigration enforcement, as the left claims it did in Minnesota, in order to appease Democrats. The Democrats are thoroughly evil. They truly want to protect illegal aliens, no matter what appalling crimes they have committed, simply so that they have the illicit votes and cheap labor that come with illegal immigration.
Trump was right during the State of the Union to excoriate congressional Democrats who refused to give standing ovations to Dalilah Coleman, a little girl permanently disabled by an illegal alien truck driver-caused crash, and the mother of Lizbeth Medina, the 16-year-old American high school cheerleader in Texas who was stabbed to death by an illegal alien.
