Why do leftists persist in trying to corrupt, vilify, and remake every aspect of Christmas? Because ultimately, leftist ideology is their religion, and they are battling for the mind, heart, and soul of America.
When lefties ban "Merry Christmas" or build anti-ICE Nativity displays or host "holigay" drag shows with men in revealing Santa dresses, it's not just because their silly or puerile (though they are). For leftists, their political/cultural opinions are their religion. Either they are neo-pagans or their alleged religious views always take back seat to their politics. And so they persist in trying to warp every Jewish and Christian holiday, because they believe no other religion than their own should be allowed.
I once attended an event where a bitter boomer kept trying turn a group conversation about classic novels and opera into Marxist social criticism. Eventually one of us told her politely we were discussing art, not politics. "All art is politics!" she shrieked stridently, eyes popping. All her fellow leftists would agree with her — although they would say everything is politics, from art to architecture to religion to education to holidays. All must be consumed by Big Brother and his Marxist agenda.
One of the most disgusting instances of what I mean was a mislabeled “family friendly” drag show hosted by Napa Valley College and organized by LGBTQ Connection Napa Sonoma and California Youth Advocacy Network. The event was called “Drag the Halls” for the “holigays” and was allegedly “non denominational.” I suppose being an LGBTQ cult member is sort of non denominational.
The vile event, which featured a drag queen in an inappropriate Santa Claus costume, was specifically aimed at youth: “All we want for the holiday are safe local spaces for queer and trans people, especially lgbtq youth. Both these organizations are making it happen everyday.” This is the catechizing of youth into the religion of leftism and the worship of sex. It is demonic inversion of Sunday school.

On a similar topic, People published this headline, sure to make you want to throw up eggnog: “Baby Jesus with Zip-Tied Wrists and Mary in a Gas Mask: Why Some Churches Are Taking a Stand with Anti-ICE Nativity Scenes.” One Methodist church put up a sign that read, “Due to ICE activity in our community, the Holy Family is in hiding.” Someone should show them the parts of the Old Testament where God and the prophets tell the Jews to have nothing to do with pagan foreigners, or the first letter of St. Peter ordering obedience to lawful authority. But the main point is that these churches have subordinated their religion to their politics, making Marxist ideology rather than the gospel the focus of their Christmas celebrations and public practice.
There is a very specific reason for all this Christmas co-opting, just as leftists are very devious in remaking and rewriting classic movies and books with a modern Marxist slant, or trying to claim that every historical hero was either a despicable villain or a closet homosexual/feminist. They are claiming all history, art, religion, and culture for their own, breaking it down, and rebuilding it in their own image. These are the actions not so much of politicians as of cult members.
So when Joy Reid screams that "Jingle Bells" is racist, or your local craft store stocks up on transgender-flag-bearing Nutcrackers, remember that the best way to combat this insanity is by being open and proud of our own religious beliefs this Christmas season. We will not allow the cult members of the radical left to be the Grinches who steal Christmas.
