Hegseth Pulls DOD Speakers from Soros-Funded Institute’s Forum

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has reportedly prevented Defense Department staff from participating in a forum hosted by a globalist institute that received funding from insidious billionaires like George Soros and Bill Gates.

The Aspen Institute has garnered infamy among those who oppose Marxist globalism for its harmful initiatives and projects, but it has many influential and wealthy supporters, including two of the most authoritarian and destructive billionaires. No wonder Hegseth does not want any Pentagon staff speaking at Aspen’s forum.

Many globalist entities have spent decades connecting influential political, business, and academic leaders for tyrannical purposes, most of the time in the shadows. But Americans are increasingly awake to the dangers of globalism, and Hegseth is apparently determined to cut off military personnel from advising Aspen:

The Pentagon has pulled roughly a dozen high-ranking U.S. military officials who had been slated to participate in this week’s annual Aspen Security Forum, Just the News has learned.

The Defense Department cited the left-wing nature of the Aspen Institute and the participation of such critics of President Trump as Biden administration National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan…“The Department of Defense has no interest in legitimizing an organization that has invited former officials who have been the architects of chaos abroad and failure at home,” Pentagon press secretary Kingsley Wilson told Just the News.

Wilson added, “They are antithetical to the America First values of this administration. Senior representatives of the Department of Defense will no longer be participating in an event that promotes the evil of globalism, disdain for our great country, and hatred for the President of the United States.”

It is worth noting that one prominent member of Biden’s now-defunct federal Disinformation Governance Board, Michael Chertoff, had ties to the Aspen Institute, as I uncovered at the time. Censorship is just one area where Aspen promotes disturbing policies. Aspen is also dedicated to the impossible net-zero carbon goals, which attack life itself, since all living things are carbon-based life forms. Aspen Institute has promoted the World Health Organization’s harmful health recommendations, too.

Soros’s Open Society Foundations (OSF) donated substantial amounts of money to Aspen between 2016 and 2023, while the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is still donating money to Aspen, with the most recent grant being in April.

Based on the Gates Foundation website, it has donated nearly 100 separate times to the Aspen Institute, to the tune of millions of dollars, between 2002 and April 2025, when the grant amount was $150,000 for “Public Awareness and Analysis” in the Global Policy and Advocacy division. Whatever that means.

The Gates Foundation also gave the Aspen Institute $2,000,000 in January for the same vaguely stated reason, amounting to $2,150,000 just in the first half of this year. Aspen received three grants from the Gates Foundation totaling $1,100,000 for education and public awareness in Africa and America in 2024.

Meanwhile, the Soros family’s OSF gave a total of 18 grants to the Aspen Institute between 2016 and 2023, with the most recent grant being $500,000 “to build an ideas collective through the Wisdom of Crowds podcast,” a woke podcast that evidently argued American decline was connected to climate change.

All of which is to say that Hegseth and his team made the right decision in telling DOD employees that they could not attend and promote an Aspen Institute forum.
