Among the ways you know that climate alarmism is about power and depopulation rather than saving the planet is how destructive “green” energy and projects are to farming and thus food production.
Whether it’s incentivizing poor countries to leave farmland fallow or demanding vast swathes of land be given over to toxic “clean” energy, climate alarmists have spent decades trying to undermine our food supply to stop a climate crisis that doesn’t even exist.
Leftist rag Reuters has a new article hysterically whining, “Billions of dollars of debt deals aimed at protecting vital ecosystems from Africa to Latin America are at risk of unravelling or may need reworking amid concerns that crucial U.S. backing is about to dry up under President Donald Trump.” Reuters is specifically referring to “debt-for-nature” deals, where the U.S. and other nations reduce the debt a poorer country owes us purely because it agrees to stop subsistence farming and fishing in certain areas that include reefs or rainforests.
Junk Science’s Steve Milloy summed it up pithily:
Debt-for-nature swaps are double-crimes:
1. Removing land from economic development keeps poor nations poor.
2. Forgiving taxpayer-guaranteed loans for nothing except green propaganda is just theft.
Fat cats in America who never have to worry about food promise not to ask for our taxpayer money repayments in return for ensuring poor people cannot eke out a meager existence. Thank goodness the Trump administration is looking to end such deals.

Another awful climate alarmist policy that Trump is axing is “green” energy, the inefficient, expensive, unreliable, and toxic solar panels and wind turbines that enrich Communist China and sabotage our energy grid. But another aspect that is not always highlighted is just how much farmland is taken up and perhaps permanently ruined by wind turbines and solar panels.
A year ago, I had the opportunity to talk to experts who explained just how pernicious the “clean” energy craze is. The windmills and solar panels added to electric vehicle (EVs) goals would require about half of all U.S. land to provide the basic electricity, which is now provided by much more reliable and inexpensive energy sources, like the gas and oil Trump wants to drill for, according to Heartland Institute president James Taylor. Yes, you read that correctly.
Milloy and CO2 Coalition’s Greg Wrightstone agreed with Taylor and stated further that solar and wind can be permanently devastating to the land and ocean on or over which it is constructed, killing wildlife, essentially poisoning the soil and water, and more.

And since there is no climate crisis and warming temperatures are actually helpful for ecosystems, there’s absolutely no justification or reason to switch to falsely labeled “green” energy.
It’s no mistake that the same people who aggressively support abortion also demand irrational acceptance of climate alarmist dogmas. They are trying to stampede the planet into a smaller, poorer, and more easily oppressed population dependent on the elites for everything, even the permission to survive.
