What Do Stalin and Woke Democrats Have in Common?

What do Marxist 21st century Democrats and the late Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin have in common? Among many other things, they both believe(d) that ideas are too dangerous to allow ordinary citizens to have their own opinions and the freedom to express them.

Mass murderer Stalin, who took power from ailing Russian dictator Lenin on this day in 1922, once said, “Ideas are more powerful than guns. We would not let our enemies have guns, why should we let them have ideas?” Democrats in America in 2025 go one better than Stalin, because they think their own fellow citizens shouldn’t be allowed to have ideas. Or perhaps, like Stalin himself, Democrats simply identify any citizens who disagree with them as being enemies.

Two other quotes from Stalin explain further his views on the importance of group-think and, coincidentally, can also help us understand recent Democrat shenanigans in the USA. “Education is a weapon, the effect of which is determined by the hands which wield it, by who is to be struck down,” Stalin declared. And again, “The press must grow day in and day out — it is our Party’s sharpest and most powerful weapon.”

Communist nations have usually displayed the paradox of, on the one hand, killing and persecuting many educated individuals (see for instance Stalinist Russia and Communist Cambodia), and, on the other hand, encouraging widespread literacy (e.g., Soviet Russia, North Korea, and Communist China). Why is that? Stalin’s quote gives us the clue. Tyrants throughout history have always understood the importance of propagandizing the younger generation to ensure their tyranny lasts for years to come. That is very much true in Communist nations, which use education as a way to control what people think.

My tour guide in Vietnam admitted that education there is heavily slanted through Communist ideology, and a foreign exchange student I knew from China made similar comments about the propaganda in his country. But is that really so very different from most of the education system in the United States? Our education system has largely become little more than a propaganda system for indoctrinating youth into Marxist, woke ideology. And Democrats want to keep it that way. They are particularly desperate right now because they see their hold on our institutions, whether that is the federal government, educational entities, big businesses, or other organizations, starting to slip. We the People are forming our own ideas, and Democrats couldn’t be more terrified even if we had guns trained on them.

And, like Stalin, Democrats rely heavily on a shamelessly biased media. Yet that power, too, is slipping from them. Americans’ trust in media is at an historic low, and Democrats are beside themselves. Thus we see stupid stunts like widespread anti-Tesla terrorism, judicial activism, and Cory Booker’s filibuster (after he previously tried to abolish it). Behold below another idiotic stunt, as Georgia Democrats hold a walkout in support of funding criminals’ “transgender” surgeries with your taxpayer dollars:

Or listen below to some truly Soviet-style word manipulation, as Colorado Democrats compare parents who want to stop leftists from cutting off kids’ body parts to Democrat KKK terrorists who cut off victims’ body parts:

I think we can agree that we all hope the Democrat Party and Stalin’s Soviet regime will soon have one more feature in common: that of being dead political entities of the past.
