The Obama administration’s implementation of its signature policy remains indefensible. Healthcare.gov is still unsecure and dangerous to use. Millions have lost their coverage and would be unwise to use Healthcare.gov to sign up for new coverage. The government has all but abandoned verifying who is and isn’t eligible for subsidies. And now we learn that the government doesn’t even know a very basic fact about all this.
Rep. Gregg Harper (R-MS) asks a Centers for Medicare and Medicaid official “So we don’t know at this point how many people have actually paid for coverage?”
The answer: “That’s right?”
This means that the number of enrollees that the Obama administration has been touting is vapor.
Rather than stick around and lead the effort to fix any of this, President Obama is out campaigning on some college tuition initiative. He’s good at talking about initiatives. Not so good at seeing them through.
