If it only saves one life, well, then perhaps we should consider making it easier for individuals to purchase so-called “assault weapons” and obtain training for their families in proper safety and operation. In Houston this week, a 15-year-old boy was at home with his 12-year-old sister when a pair of intruders broke into their home. The kids’ father is a law enforcement officer, and he owns an “assault rifle.” The thieves soon found themselves looking at the business end of that rifle, and the boy opened fire. KHOU reports.
The boy hit one of the intruders, wounding him. Both were captured and the two innocent kids are safe. Two lives saved.
According to the video above, the neighborhood where this occurred had been plagued with burglaries prior to this incident. A repeat is unlikely now.
