Today, the US Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that US unemployment remained flat in December at 7.8%. The US economy under re-elected Barack Obama created just 155,000 jobs during the month, 30,000 of which can be attributed to Hurricane Sandy. Holiday hiring had little impact. The US economy needs to create about half a million jobs per month just to keep up with population growth.
But worry not, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has a remedy. The DCCC is holding a “resume drop” at its Washington, DC headquarters today.
With 12.2 million Americans unemployed, the resume pile could grow to be quite large.
