Florida Senate: Republican challenger outraises Dem incumbent

Florida’s Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson has a serious challenge on his hands. Former state Senate president Mike Haridopolos has reportedly raised $2.5 million during the first quarter of this year. That puts the challenger halfway to matching the total war chest Nelson already has on hand and has been building up for years. Nelson raised $2 million in the same quarter.

Add Haridopolos’ good news to the news greeting one of his primary competitors, and the FL GOP field may be clearing up a bit.
