Here, Page, wearing nerdy glasses so you know you can take her seriously, appears with the uber-leftist outlet Democracy Now! — which has made a name for itself as the most aggressive, maximalist promulgator of the most delusional progressive takes imaginable, including Russiagate — to promote the film and denounce the “quaint little myth” of the “cisheteropatriarchal structure”:

In terms of looking at nature as if it’s some sort of cisheteropatriarchal structure is absurd, and that this, you know, gender binary that we’ve created is nothing but a quaint little myth. It really illustrates, you know, why that information has been so suppressed and how important it is for us to all learn about this.

Isn’t it ironic that the same people who dedicate their public lives to combatting “conspiracy theories” regarding people in prominent positions of power using that power to disseminate disinformation for the purposes of social control will, in the next breath, claim that biologists have engaged in a millennia-long conspiracy to hide animal queerness from the public consciousness in order to perpetrate the “cisheteropatriarchal structure”?

Is disrespecting the science in this brazen manner not antithetical to the Respect the Science™ mantra they have subjected the Deplorables to for years now, to cajole them into taking experimental medical products?

Far be it from me to impugn the motives of these liberal and loving angel cakes, who deserve our reflexive reverence at all times, but if one weren’t properly convinced of their benevolence, it might almost seem like they’re cynical actors who wield “shut up, conspiracy theorist” and “respect the science” as convenient cudgels when it suits them.
