This is the test for the Trump administration: if these people are not dealt with seriously and harshly with extreme, aggressive, and sustained action — and, more importantly, not just them but every bureaucrat, NGO, and politician (even Republicans, if they’re involved) that collaborated with them — failure to do so will seriously jeopardize any legitimate pretense of #DraintheSwamp, a core original Trump campaign pledge dating all the way back to 2015 that has so far gone, by and large, unfulfilled.
DOGE is all but a distant memory for most Americans. The Swamp ecosystem is still vibrant and thriving, and the Somali migrant fraud is but a small microcosm.
A couple of token prosecutions of low-level operators won’t be sufficient.
