The Geopolitical Fallout From the USAID Scandal Has Only Just Begun

Nation-states already on the fence, to put it diplomatically, about the merits of the “humanitarian work” or whatever euphemism is currently fashionable that US-backed NGOs perform on their people have begun reacting to the revelations of astronomical waste and abuse foisted on them by these groups after DOGE opened up the books.

These USAID-funded NGOs trannify their kids, stoke racial hatred, foment coups, and introduce all other manner of insidious social pathogens to their societies, all in the name of Democracy™, another euphemism for the global neoliberal world order that despises national sovereignty.

Via Associated Press (emphasis added):

Hungary will take legal action to eliminate non-governmental organizations and media outlets operating in the country that receive funding from the United States and other international sources, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said on Friday.

Orbán, an ally of U.S. President Donald Trump, said in statements on state radio that his government was going “line by line” through organizations operating in Hungary that have received financial assistance from the United States. He praised Trump’s decision to dismantle the U.S. Agency for International Development, the agency charged with delivering humanitarian assistance overseas, claiming such aid had been used to fund organizations that sought to “topple” his government.

“Now is the moment when these international networks have to be taken down, they have to be swept away,” Orbán said. “It is necessary to make their existence legally impossible.”

Eastern Europe, and Hungary in particular — which is why the EU and US ruling class has targeted it so viciously — has been on the warpath for many years now with accusations along the lines of what Orban accused USAID NGOs of in the above statement. But now they have the proof in spades — the “receipts,” as the kids say.

Continuing:

Hungary under Orbán has for years enacted crackdowns on NGOs and the country’s independent media, passing laws that critics argue seek to stigmatize and hinder groups that provide protection for women and minorities*, offer legal and human rights assistance, and expose official corruption.

Those efforts ramped up in 2023 when Orbán’s right-wing populist government launched the Sovereignty Protection Office, an authority tasked with investigating organizations and media outlets it deems to be exerting foreign influence.

The office has the power to gather information on any groups or individuals that benefit from foreign funding and influence public debate, and Hungary’s secret services can assist in its investigations

*The “protecting the transgender children” ruse has been so fully exposed and debunked such that this henpecking from legacy media like the Associated Press no longer carries any weight.

It’s over, AP! The “transgender holocaust” line isn’t going to cut the mustard anymore.

What a beautiful day — Morning in America.

My guess is we’ve only just begun to scratch the surface of the geopolitical ramifications of the ad hoc USAID audit performed by Musk and Co. — bad, sad news for neocons, and great news for anyone who loves liberty, government accountability, and the integrity of nation-states around the world to conduct their internal affairs as they see fit, not subject to the whims of nefarious goblins in the U.S. State Department or wherever.
