The Israelis say, “yes, he did” — according to the Washington Times.
The report says the “Israeli government accused the White House of lying by denying that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had request to meet US President Barack Obama” on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York City meeting later this month. An unidentified senior Israeli official tells the paper that Netanyahu was also will to come to Washington if that worked better for Obama. Israel says Netanyahu was rebuffed.
The White House has announced that Egypt’s new president, Mohammed Morsi of the Muslim Brotherhood, will be Obama’s guest at the White House later this month. The Brotherhood considers Israel an enemy that ought not exist.
