World’s Largest, Most Accurate LEGO Star Destroyer

June 7th, 2014 - 8:31 am

40,000+ bricks, 110 pounds, almost seven feet long, eight months to design and build.

If you like Lego or if you like Star Wars — or if you’re like me and turn eight years old again when you put the two together — then click over to Wired right now for the whole story of this incredible build.

(Big thanks to Christopher Joshua Arndt on Facebook for the heads up!)

It’s a guy thing; we all become little boys from time to time.

There is a lot of construction equipment where I work, and yesterday one of the operators had to flatten some old two hundred gallon steel tanks with the excavator (HUGE digging machine for those who don’t recognize that). Well, don’t you just know that all of the otherwise serious professionals there kept asking Chris (the operator) to wait until they could come and watch the destruction, even the operations manager. SMASH. Want to see a huge piece of equipment flatten something big? Yes sir, I do.

Not bad, almost fun as driving over a Prius with a tank.
