Your ObamaCare Fail of the Day

November 13th, 2013 - 11:49 am

Surprise, surprise, surprise:

Software problems with the federal online health insurance marketplace, especially in handling high volumes, are proving so stubborn that the system is unlikely to work fully by the end of the month as the White House has promised, according to an official with knowledge of the project.

The insurance exchange is balking when more than 20,000 to 30,000 people attempt to use it at the same time — about half its intended capacity, said the official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to disclose internal information. And CGI Federal, the main contractor that built the site, has succeeded in repairing only about six of every 10 of the defects it has addressed so far.

Government workers and technical contractors racing to repair the Web site have concluded, the official said, that the only way for large numbers of Americans to enroll in the health-care plans soon is by using other means so that the online system isn’t overburdened.

It bears repeating that the real crisis isn’t whether the feds are able to get the website up and running “on time.” The real crisis is when the rush of customers — the young, healthy ones required to make the law function — fail to materialize in December. Or January, February, or March.

This is a bit O/T, but I need to say this somewhere, and hope it spreads, and I know how influential our dear VodkaPundit is. ;)

The Dems have been poo-pooing the cancellations, equating it to the normal churning of the private insurance market, and I am sick of this whitewash.

When I cancel my policy, that is my choice. Perhaps I buy a different one from the same insurer, or from another insurer, or I decide to go without, or I get a new job which provides it as a benefit. It is my choice.

People need to understand that it is not the insurance customers cancelling these policies. You think they want to lose our business? No, this is the government cancelling our policies. The policies were made illegal.

Repeat this after me: ObamaCare cancelled these policies by making them illegal. Big government cancelled these policies!

I thought Democrats were Pro-Choice. They are big on the woman's right to choose. How about the consumer's right to choose?

This is the government choosing, instead of you. It is big government at its finest. Big government cancelled your policies, and they are going to cancel tens of millions more of them, so they can bring you socialized medicine. Oh, joy!

Welcome to Progressive/Liberal Utopia! It's like the Hotel California. "You can check in, but you can't ever leave."

Oh, they'll come to sign up, alright, and they will crash the system, again. And the insurance companies will not get the right info. And identities will be stolen. And they won't get their insurance. Horror stories will abound about sick people who have been cut off from care, because their insurance policies were cancelled, because of the law.

In the middle of the year, small business insurance policies will be cancelled, too. The notices will go out in Mar/Apr. The firestorm will be even greater. I hope they are all Obama voters.

How about let Obamacare navigators do door to door sign ups? They take your soc.sec.#, your annual salary figure. They know where you live. Hmmm.
