Not that I want a war with Iran, but if you’re going to plan for one, it’s nice to have the allies at least semi on board:
Britain has rebuffed US pleas to use military bases on its soil to support forces in the Persian Gulf, citing secret legal advice which states that any pre-emptive strike on Iran could breach international law.
US diplomats have also reportedly lobbied for the use of British bases in Cyprus and permission to fly from US bases on Ascension Island in the Atlantic and Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean, both British territories.
Churchill’s bust could not be reached for comment.
Really? Even after Obama so strongly backed the U.K. in its dispute with Argentina over the Falkland Islands? Oh wait . . .
Britain is also the owner of Diego Garcia, where one of our most strategic air bases is located.
Much as I loathe the O, and especially his (lack of) foreign policy, I’m calling “head games” on this one.

Not gonna help Obama look strong in foreign affairs. They will say something else, as soon as he is finally out of office. Besides, it feels good to rebuff him and get a little payback. I am sure they are sick to death of him. Imagine being the Queen and having to entertain such boors as the Obama’s. Ugh!
Time for another gift of downloaded Obama speeches for Brit royalty. They appear to be so impressed with the previous ones.
I imagine they also have been rendered awestruck by Obama’s vast and encyclopedic knowledge of naval capacity and tactics. What with those ships that have planes land on them and those boats that can submerge underwater and all.
If I was a close ally like Britain or Israel, I would have supreme confidence in Obama’s ability to prosecute a military action based on those things alone.
Heaven knows his work on Benghazi has instilled a worldwide respect for his security acumen and integrity.
Who would you rather have in the bunker next to you than Barack Obama? I mean, as long as there were no buses nearby to be thrown under that is.

We look forward to seeing Churchill’s bust returned to a place of honor in the White House. Timing-wise, Jan 21, 2013 would be perfect.

The Brits will have their own Muslim war soon enough, at home, in Al-Picadilly Square and beyond.
Ironically, their existential struggle will occur in about 2066, a most-significant year that should ring an alarm bell in those educated before 1980.
Little will Britain’s bases avail them then, though American goodwill just might (yet again).
