Be Very Afraid
January 22nd, 2010 - 4:31 pm
Not the line of the week:
“Let me tell you, so long as I have the privilege of serving as your president, I’ll never stop fighting for you,” Obama said at the beginning of a town hall meeting with voters Friday.
That’s what I’m afraid of.

Please stop. No, really. We don’t mind. You can stop. We mean it. Now. Just stop, dammit!
“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”
–C S Lewis
Scott Ott had this one nailed a while back – can’t find a link so I’ll have to paraphrase: You know when somebody is trying to comfort or console you, but they insist on touching and patting you and rubbing your back and you just want to yell “STOP TOUCHING ME!!”
Mr. President, STOP “FIGHTING FOR ME!!”
I knew he wasn’t going to learn the right lesson from Brown’s victory, but that’s okay. Seems to me this country’s voters are still in a teaching mood — and Obama’s certainly doing his best to keep ‘em that way.
Win-win!
Liberals are like “The Borg” in Start Trek. They can get damaged, but they re-assumulate and keep coming at you. They just need to be gone…..
I do believe the “for” may have been a slip of the tongue.
