Via Fred Thompson, who’s probably too much of a bigoted conservative to understand that “moron” is just another way of using the N-word.

That’s damn near treasonous.
But it would have been freakin HILARIOUS from about 2001 through 2008!
(And I hope I didn’t just ruin a good rope a dope)
It was from “… 2001 through 2008.”

I think I first saw it in 2007, titled “Invention of impeachment.”
Oh! What might have been…

but everyone who cares to know that already does.
Fred Thompson posted this cartoon without sourcing or even dating it, and without any suggestion of irony, despite his crooked career, crazy campaigns, and personal history in general.
Janus, I think you’re missing the point. The cartoon is funny, pretty much no matter who is in office.
Now, now, Stephen. You and I both know humor is a decadent bourgeois concept concocted by the privileged to make the downtrodden think there’s something funny about their plight.
Thank you Stephen, and I do love the cartoon (hence the links to it’s imprinted merchandise). Yet, might you, on second thought, agree with jaymaster? I do.
Today, the cartoon appears to reference a guy who worked his way from dirt and the desertion of his father, through the death of his mother, through Harvard, through tough campaigns (in Chicago, and then against a Clinton, and then against the handicap of having the support of the Democratic Party) to become President. That makes the cartoon less funny, more clueless than cutting, and easily discounted.
Let’s put the same cartoon in context by date. Now, it references the spoiled and drug addled child of a powerful and unprincipled family whose political party failed to support the worthy candidates. It makes us laugh, and makes us think, “How did that happen?”
And we, particularly Republicans, need to think how to make that never happen again.
