A Random Observation

Let me get this straight. The Pork Package was too important to actually read, debate, or let the public see before Congress approved it. But not so important that it couldn’t wait a few days for President Obama to sign it at a big campaign rally event in a swing state.
Did I get that right?

Yep. You got that exactly right.
Of course, since Obama is in perpetual campaign mode, this would make perfect sense to him. Acting as Chief Executive? Uh…. Not so much.
The ultimate burn is, the biggest reason Colorado is now a swing state, is that so many carpetbagging Californians don’t want to live under their own ‘blue state’ ideals they mandate for the rest of us.
See also New Hampshire, Mass.
Come back in 90 days. By that time, the same Democrats who are screeching for this stimulus will start saying that it wasn’t big enough and will come back to get another one. Once you get used to saying “trillion” you’d be surprised how easy you can become desensitized to saying “trillions”.
Me? I’m going into the wheelbarrow business. I see a big future in green, eco-friendly transportation devices that can be used by consumers to move the amount of money they will need to buy lunch.
It’s not a shock that the Obama on the campaign trail would be so starkly different than the one in the Oval Office. But so soon? So stark? Wow. Talk about change!
Well I’ll say this for “change”; usually it takes a couple of years for me to feel a sense of disappointment with any given administration, This one managed to accelerate that feeling into the first 30 days, so that now I’ll have four full years to fine tune my bad attitude and sour outlook.
Frank, you’re disappointed with Hoover II? I’m giddy! He’s living down to my wildest dreams.
He may singlehandedly cause the ratification of a constitutional amendment allowing for a nationwide popular no-confidence vote within three months of a new president taking office.
Honestly, my biggest fear with the election was that the man in the executive office would turn out to be a weak executive. My fear was that the person leading the executive branch would be someone who would serve only as a figurehead ‘rubber stamp” style leader, allowing the federal legislative branch to have all real power in the government without any real sense of a ‘separation of powers’ nor have any desire of maintaining a responsible check on that power by the executive branch.
That fear has been completely realized. There is quite literally nothing to stop Congress as it quickly and without remorse sets about the effort of confiscating everything that isn’t nailed down, taxing everything that is and silencing everyone who says anything negative about it in the process. And dont think for one second that the passage of “the stimulus” means that its all over. Its just the first of many, many more to come. We will be the first generation to use the words “only a trillion” in polite conversation without a hint of sarcasm.
As Karen Carpenter was said to say, “We’ve only just begun”.
