Not that many defenders of the Constitution had much interest in voting for Obama anyway…
WTF. This is worse than Bill Ayres.
Ummm… what’s the context of what he’s saying? That was obviously an answer to a question… so what was the question?
Because I’m a believer in “it if sounds too good to be true, it probably is”… I have a feeling the question was regarding the nature of Slavery in the original constitution.
If true… I think that makes what he said much less controversial. I think most people would agree that its somewhat shameful that such an incredible document allowed for legal slavery. Yet, it doesn’t change the over incredible things in it.
“I have a feeling the question was regarding the nature of Slavery in the original constitution.”
I’m pretty sure that’s exactly the context.
“If true… I think that makes what he said much less controversial.” Agreed. Few would deny that slavery is bad.
But then there are the last four seconds, when he refers to it as “the fundamental flaw of this country that continues to this day.” Just what does that mean, and what does he intend to do about it? There you could have some controversy. Or not. There’s no way to know.
