Kathleen Parker sums up why I won’t miss Bush, can’t trust Obama, and will probably hold my nose and vote of McCain — and all in three short emails!
Why you will probably vote for McCain:
Arise ye bitter folks from your slumbers
Arise ye prisoners of want
For reason in revolt now thunders
And at last ends the age of cant.
Away with all your superstitions
Servile masses arise, arise
We’ll change henceforth the old tradition
And spurn the dust to win the prize.
So comrades, come rally
And the last fight let us face
The Obamamessiah unites the human race.
So comrades, come rally
And the last fight let us face
The Obamamessiah unites the human race.
No more deluded by reaction
On tyrants only we’ll make war
The soldiers too will take strike action
They’ll break ranks and fight no more
And if those cannibals keep trying
To sacrifice us to their pride
They soon shall hear the bullets flying
We’ll shoot the generals on our own side.
No saviour but Obama delivers
No faith have we in prince or peer
Our own right hand the chains must shiver
Chains of hatred, greed and fear
E’er the thieves will give up their booty
And give to all a happier lot.
Those at the forge must do their duty
And we’ll strike while the iron is hot.
Won’t miss Bush.
Can’t trust Obama.
Wouldn’t vote for McCain if you got me drunk off a gallon of gin and sent me into a voting booth in November.
And I simply don’t believe that McCain would actually do anything substantive about a nation as insignificant to American national interests as Georgia.
I really dont want to have to vote for McCain. I would rather vote for libertarians. But being in a battleground state I am afraid I will have to vote for him. The Obam cult is simply too creepy to tolerate. It is a deep shame that when or if this empty suit is defeated, many will attribute it to race.
Until this year, I’d never made up my mind before the conventions. But this year, it’s McCain all the way for me.
And I won’t be voting for McCain,so much as against Obama. I despise extremists from both the left and the right, and he is, IMO, the most liberal, left leaning candidate offered up by the Democrats in the last 40 years (maybe ever). Plus his near complete lack of experience scares me.
I am less than enthused about McCain, but I would rather have a C+ candidate than a D-, and that’s where I would rank them both right now.
Of course, there are still 80+ days for me to change my mind. McCain could do something really stupid between now and then. Being caught in bed with a live boy or dead girl wouldn’t turn me off. But choosing a running mate like Huckabee might do it.
Yep, Huckabee would be a deal killer for me too. That would convince me that McCain was unhinged and that I would be better off taking a chance with Tabula Rasa Obama. Or at least not actively opposing it…
dougq,
I live Virginia, which looks to be a battleground state this year for the first time in a very long time.
And I’m still voting for Barr.
It’s not my fault the GOP nominated someone I can’t stomach voting for.
Doug Mataconis,
When and if Bambi gets elected and you get your tax bills and you get all the new entitlements that you do not support signed into law and you get your teachers unions running amok, then look in a mirror and tell youself it was not your fault but it will be. And when you get the rest of the ACLU lawyers named to the Supreme Court and you get your rights taken away because the judge had dyspepsia that day, look in that same mirror and try to tell yourself it was not your fault but it will be.
