Liberals have no sense of humor because they are the new puritans and their scripture is the catechism of political correctness. And like all fundamentalists they will never, ever, find humor in heresy.
Killing people is not funny. Having an excellent sense of humor, I find it telling that I do not “sense” any humor in the prospect of killing people, whether they be conservative or liberal, communist, anarchist, fundamentalist, terrorist or otherwise. This is because killing people may sometimes be necessary, but it is never funny. Read a bit of history and you will find that jokes about killing and actual killing go together like franks and beans. There is nothing politically correct about this. It is merely correct.
It’s hard to explain why a joke works. You don’t get it. Fine and you’re correct killing people isn’t funny, but nobody was talking about killing people or even hurting people.
BTW – What do you think about making up potty words?
When I first saw that “I have dreams about Tim Robbins on fire” lede, I thought Susan Sarandon must have taken up blogging. Then I saw the comment, “Killing people is not funny.”
That’s when I remembered that old joke:
Q: How many feminists does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
A: That’s not funny!
Oh, and on the merits about killing people, if it isn’t funny, then why is SouthPark so fucking hilarious? Why were “Falling Down” and “Pulp Fiction” and “Fargo” three of the funniest films ever made? Riddle me that, Scatman.
Killing Kenny is funny because Kenny is not an real live human being whom some of your number might actually enjoy killing. The same cannot be said of Tim Robbins.
One character killing another in a movie can be funny. It often is. Like when the biker guy explodes in Raising Arizona. But fantasizing about the actual murder of a real person is not funny at all.
Plus, hey, listen to this one: “I dream about Rush Limbaugh being strangled with a piano string until his eyes bleed.” LOL. Ho ho ho. Isn’t that hilarious? What? I’m just kidding, man. Can’t you take a joke?
Who doesn’t?
Ahh yes. Nothing like a little bit of eliminationism to turn me off from an otherwise excellent blog.
Liberals have no sense of humor. Wonder why that is?
Horatio, rest assured we aren’t advocating that Robbins literally be set on fire.
If you don’t get it, that’s okay, you can make up words instead. Eliminationism?
That one sounds a bit scatological and might turn off others who wish to comment on an otherwise excellent blog?

I don’t understand. Is setting someone on fire just supposed to sting a bit?
Google “eliminationism.” Maybe there’s a better term for it. I suspect new -isms are coined just about every day.

Well…
…they could set him on fire and then put it out.
“Hey. It’s, like, a joke…man. Just like, uh, ‘acting’.”

I find it telling too, that you can’t sense the humor in the jest.
They’re “just kidding”. Ooops. Don’t tell that one to Armed Liberal in the same breath with my name. He’ll kick/ban/kill you. And he’s NOT ‘joking’.

Hey, Horatio, pull that stick out of your ass and use it to click on the link.
I despise people who decide what their opinion is before they bother to inform themselves.
BTW, I fed ‘eliminationism’ to google. It seems to be some leftie political jargon of the ‘people who do this are bad’ variety.
Key words, Horatio: I have dreams. I’m sorry you think you have a sense of humor.
….and it’s not like we’re really killing him…no one’s saying anything about murder…we’re just setting him on fire…
