Here Are Five Steps Gun Grabbers Can Take to Make America 'Gun Free'

Austin Bragg at Reason.com has laid out the five necessary steps that gun-control advocates must take if they want to make America gun free.

The problem is, it will be hard work to accomplish this goal. No shortcuts through the courts as with gay marriage. This will be a project where the actual hearts and minds of the American people will have to be changed in order to get them to vote for lawmakers who want to create a gun-free paradise here in America.

That’s just the first step. The second step is to get this newly minted super majority of gun grabbers in the House and Senate to pass a constitutional amendment that repeals the Second Amendment. The third step would be to work at the grassroots level to get 38 state legislatures to pass the amendment.

But so far, all you’ve done is create the conditions for Congress to act to take the guns away. With the Second Amendment gone, there’s nothing to stop them.

Step 4: Legislate. You need to enact “common sense” reform.

You can try to do what Australia did and…ban all guns? That’s not at all what they did, but whatever, f**k it. Go big or go home, right?

It will have to be passed by Congress and signed by the president.

Great! The law is passed and guns are now illegal. The only thing left to do is…

Step 5: Enforce. Guns won’t just disappear because you passed a law. You need to confiscate some 350 million guns scattered among 330 Million Americans.

Sure, you can try a buy-back program like Australia, but like Australia that will still leave behind anywhere from 60 percent to 80 percent of privately owned firearms.

The rest you have to take.

You’ll need the police, the FBI, the ATF or the National Guard—all known for their nuanced approach to potentially dangerous situations—to go door-to-door, through 3.8 million square miles of this country and take guns, by force, from thousands, if not, millions of well-armed individuals. Many of whom would rather start a civil war than acquiesce.

So inevitably gun violence, which is currently at a historic low, will skyrocket.

But that is how you get a gun-free America in five easy steps.

All the gun-control lobby can do is moralize, pontificate, and attempt to score political points against their opponents. They call-gun rights advocates names. They rail against the NRA, equating its members with terrorists.

But where the rubber meets their pointy little heads, they got nothing. As with gay marriage, they refuse to do the scut work of democracy, getting in the trenches and fighting for their point of view, trying to change hearts and minds one at a time. If they really wanted a gun-free America, they would move heaven and earth to make the seeming impossible, plausible.

Frederick Douglas and Martin Luther King did it. Samuel Gompers and John L. Lewis did it. Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony did it. Each of those great Americans was faced with what most believed was an impossible goal and succeeded against overwhelming odds through hard work and the ability to inspire others.

And the gun lobby? If arrogant pronouncements of moral superiority counted in the real world of American politics, they’d win hands down.
