Source: This Week's Charlie Hebdo Will Feature Mohammad Cartoons

The lawyer for Charlie Hebdo said the upcoming edition of the magazine will feature caricatures  of the prophet Mohammad. The surviving employees of the weekly magazine will have a new issue out on Wednesday. The Wednesday issue will be printed in 16 different languages, said Charlie columnist Patrick Pelloux.

Charlie Hebdo’s lawyer, Richard Malka, told French radio the upcoming publication will “obviously” lampoon the Prophet – among other figures – to show staff will “cede nothing” to extremists seeking to silence them.

The surviving staff members have been working out of the offices of Liberation, a french newspaper, and other media companies have loaned the Charlie employees equipment to work. The Charlie offices are still under seal by police and covered in blood.

The magazine will publish 1 million copies of the issue compared to the standard weekly run of around 66,000 copies. The magazine’s contents will be produced “only by people from Charlie Hebdo,” financial director Eric Portheault told AFP. Contributions from cartoonists in other countries and from France were declined.
