Ferguson: ‘Without These Businesses Broken Into, None of Y’All Would Be Out Here’

Because nothing says "Justice for Michael Brown" like committing injustice against many others.

In the above video from Reason.tv, protestors in Ferguson, Missouri, rationalize the looting and property destruction which has taken place in the wake of the fatal shooting of Michael Brown by police. Asked “Do you see a problem with the destruction of private property…,” one protestor stated unequivocally:

No. I believe that the only reason we have this attention is because of the looting and rioting.

Another expounds with a unique perspective:

I’m a business owner. So I understand both sides. Of course I wouldn’t want my – any of my businesses burned down, broken into. But without these businesses broken into, none of y’all would be out here, because that’s the only reason people tweeted. People Facebooked. People Instagramed. If it was just a peaceful – everybody get together – you know, “Justice for Mike Brown” and everybody leave, we wouldn’t have the national attention we have now, and it would be swept under the rug.

It’s an attitude toward violence which has been more overtly articulated by agitators on the political left. Consider this Salon article covering Occupy protests in Oakland back in 2011. Protest organizer Michael Spencer rationalized rioting in much the same way the above protesters have:

“Property damage is not violence,” said Spencer with a frown. “The reality was, no cops got hurt. It looks like more than it was. They were just burning shit in the street.”

Such is the quality of thought which manifests in riots like those seen in Ferguson. Whether Michael Brown’s killing was justified or not, the question will not be settled by stealing things, breaking stuff, or “burning shit in the street.” Indeed, any legitimate criticism of police conduct losses its impact when coupled with open disregard of justice as such.

So, sure, you might get more attention from looting than you otherwise would. But it does no favors for the cause.

What "cause"? The false assertion that black's being on the bottom of the socioeconomic scale is due to "white privilege" and inherent racism?

That's the PREMISE of the media, the left's sedition and the rioters in Ferguson. And, it's ALL a lie...

It's not the dearth of economic opportunity that is responsible for the rioting in Ferguson. It's the 50+ years of abandonment by blacks of the cultural keys to success and black's embrace of the racist excuse sold to them by the left where the truth lies.

A minority group's socioeconomic success in America exactly tracks the minority culture’s embrace, neglect or rejection of Five Critical Cultural Key Virtues.

The Five Critical Cultural Key Virtues are simple but profound in their effects, they are;
1) education,
2) developing a strong work ethic,
3) acceptance of personal responsibility and accountability,
4) acceptance of familial obligations and loyalty, and
5) the virtue of delayed gratification.

Individual exceptions aside, that is all it takes to be successful in America. That is all it has ever taken.

Why aren't there any white riots? Has a white person never had his rights trampled on? Has no white person ever experienced injustice? Has no white person ever been killed by somebody of another race?

And moreover, why can't all of these black rioters and race baiters find a single victim who actually is an upstanding citizen? Surely, with the thousands of black murders every year, at least one of them must be somebody who was minding his own business. Wouldn't they prefer not having to build a web of lies EVERY SINGLE TIME?

Because nothing says "Abject Poverty" like burning down what little you have available.

For God sake, they are rioting because they can. It is as simple as that.
No rhyme or reason. Violence sometimes is the only response for people who can't and won't think. It is much easier to destroy than build.
The extra added attraction is they have the blessing of Barry and Holder. They love the turmoil as they sit in their luxurious, armed guard protected mansions. Take that!

"Firing missiles into civilian areas isnt violence. Hardly any people are getting killed. "
How dare you respond to suppress such legitimate expressions of outrage

Michael Brown was an adult male, not a child. In the video of the convenience store, Mr. Brown acted out using his size, making him a bully. Do I believe he bullied many individuals, black, white, latino, asian, etc., my his actions, I would probably bet on the fact that he was a bully and abused people because he had an ego and though it was cool to be a bad ass. Do I know this to be true, no I do not. However, his actions speak for themselves. If Michael Brown shoved the officer into his car and a rumble took place, the officer had every right to defend himself. Do I know this to be the facts, no I do not, however, by the accounts of words I heard on videos taken while he was lying on the street moments after being shot, it appears that his own community stated he charged the officer in the car and after running from the officer, turned and charged back at the officer. If I had shot a man two or three times in the arm and he continued charging me as if nothing had happened, sorry, I'm taking him out. The wise thing to do would be to wait and see what the facts determine. The saddest thing to come out of this is the fact that the majority of the black community are not smart enough to stay away from the black, racist, agitators (Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson) who are there strictly to extort money from their own and cause as much chaos as they can. It is how they make a living. They have lived off the backs of their own their entire lives, with no regard for their own except to use them and move on. The outside blacks, who are not part of the community, are, IMO, the majority of the looters, violence, etc. They don't give a hoot about Michael Brown, his family, or any living soul for that matter, they are scum who steal from their own race of people. They should be shot in the street by the community that is grieving, truly, for this family. As far as the racist agitators, they should be shot in the ass with buck shot as they are ran out of town for raping their own people. What all races should care about are the facts, and with the intentionable chaos, anger and hate, you won't know it if it hit you in the face. People try to stop and think before you REACT. ALL THAT WANT TO INFLICT PAIN, EXTORT YOUR MONEY OR YOUR COMMUNITY, PLACE THEIR BETS THAT YOU REACT AND DON'T TAKE TIME TO THINK.

Walmart, Footlocker, and any other chain store should pack up an move the heck out of Furguson. Screw the rebuilding. Each store should issue a letter to the community and press stating that they cannot be a part of a community that treats the stores they rely on for goods and services with such disrespect and try to play it off as a cry for justice for a slain man.
This is why you can't have nice things.

They will have to do that because the insurance rate there has skyrocketed by now. It will be impossible to do business there with the cost of basic insurance and security gone way beyond what a business can pay. Ferguson IS OVER commercially. Fergusonians will get in their cars and drive to white neighborhoods to buy groceries. May I refer you to Chicago and Washington DC? If the rioters took their annual salaries and burn them on the streets of Ferguson they would not do as much damage to themselves as they are doing right now. Of course Jackson, Sharpton, and Barry will be happy to help. This is a golden opportunity handed to them to continue sucking the blood of the oppressed. None of them live in the ghetto.

Here's what the logic-farm's growing on the other side:

"The key thing to remember is going Judge Dredd on a civilian is actually indefensible and illegal, no matter what he smoked or boosted."

"Let's see the toxicology screening on #DarrenWilson What was in HIS SYSTEM when he was shooting a child?"

"And focusing on the 'scariness' of looters takes our focus off the terror of those militarized police with their guns &tanks."

"'This country was built on racism.' - protestor. Damn right brother."

"This is not about simply protecting this particular killer cop. This is about protecting the right of the police to terrorize Black people."

"Mike Brown was an unarmed teen shot in cold blood. Victim blaming to distract from corruption +unchecked violence is unacceptable."

"[redacted] everybody who is trying to make it Michael Brown's fault that he was executed by a police officer in broad daylight for no reason. NOPE"

"New York Daily NewsVerified account ‏@NYDailyNews 5h The 'kill shot' in top of head was 'back-to-front' and proves Michael Brown was in a position of surrender."

"going Judge Dredd on a civilian is actually indefensible"

i.e. the police may NOT use deadly force no matter what the situation.

"Let's see the toxicology screening on #DarrenWilson What was in HIS SYSTEM when he was shooting a child?"

So the cop is guilty until proven innocent and an 18 year old, 6'4" - 290 lb male is "a child"...

"'This country was built on racism.' - protestor. Damn right brother."

A TOTAL LIE. And history proves it to be a lie.

"This is not about simply protecting this particular killer cop. This is about protecting the right of the police to terrorize Black people."

Again, the subtext is that if a white cop kills a black man, he's a racist and guilty until proven innocent (how do you PROVE you're NOT a racist?) and police insisting that blacks breaking the law be arrested is "terrorizing Black people".

"Mike Brown was an unarmed teen shot in cold blood. Victim blaming to distract from corruption +unchecked violence is unacceptable."

Mike Brown was an 18 yr old, 6'4", 290lb criminal who had attacked an officer, tried to take his gun, started to flee and when told to freeze, tried to bumrush the cop. The store video PROVES that Brown was a CRIMINAL.

"[redacted] everybody who is trying to make it Michael Brown's fault that he was executed by a police officer in broad daylight for no reason. NOPE"

Facts don't matter only the lust for revenge for imagined wrongs.

"The 'kill shot' in top of head was 'back-to-front' and proves Michael Brown was in a position of surrender."

The TWO AUTOPSY'S PROVE that ALL the bullets were front to back. When you bumrush someone, your head naturally tilts forward and down.

Great. They could've achieved much the same effect by destroying their own homes.

Whenever you hear people reject the Constitution at the same time they're constantly invoking its protections, you know you're being conned. Should we reinstate Jim Crow because that'll get Ferguson's attention? Should I never hire a black person to send a message?

Be careful what you wish for. People are watching and listening and believing their eyes and ears.

The cop who shot Bully Brown deserves a medal. First for for preventing the violent crimes Brown would certainly have committed had he lived and second for sparing taxpayers the expense of his inevitable incarceration, care and feeding. African Americans who bemoan Brown's all too timely passing deserve their condition.

A police officer does not pull his weapon to intimidate.
He pulls it to kill when threatened. He has every right to do so.

You know you're being conned when people are so willing to stipulate the failure of white culture as readily as they stipulate the failure of black culture an impossible racist myth.

If nothing else, it certainly shows who the racists are, as if a child didn't already know the difference. These folks are getting attention all right. The wrong kind.

I probably should not be putting words in the author's mouth, but I interpreted 'the cause' to be bringing attention to and stopping the tendency of police to be heavy-handed and/or far too quickly resort to their use of their gun.

You may be right and if so, I offer my apologies to the author, who may not have intended my interpretation of his words.

That said, that IS the premise of the rioters and exactly what they are failing to do. They are the constructors of the economic cage within which they reside and they are in full denial of that fact.

Well, if you're someone who has no respect for the concept of private property like the marxist morons at Salon, then hey, what does it matter if these backward-ass thugs go around destroying stuff? The "owners" don't "own" it any more than the rioters do, after all...

If that is the consensus of Ferguson business owners then the best course of action is for the police to pull way back and let these idiots eat each other.
