Nothing to see here. Literally. Because the IRS keeps losing stuff.

It’s not just Lois Lerner’s e-mails. The Internal Revenue Service says it can’t produce e-mails from six more employees involved in the targeting of conservative groups, according to two Republicans investigating the scandal.

The IRS told Ways and Means chairman Dave Camp and subcommittee chairman Charles Boustany that computer crashes resulted in additional lost e-mails, including from Nikole Flax, the chief of staff to former IRS commissioner Steven Miller, who was fired in the wake of the targeting scandal.

The revelation about Lerner’s e-mails rekindled the scandal and today’s news has further inflamed Republicans. Camp and Boustany are now demanding a special prosecutor to investigate “every angle” of the targeting. They expressed particular outrage that the agency has known since February that it would not be able to produce the e-mails requested by the committee yet did not apprise the committee of that fact, and they charged in a statement that the IRS is attempting to “cover up the fact that it convenient lost key documents in the investigation.”

The federal government swooped into Gibson Guitar’s Tennessee headquarters in August 2011, with armed agents, and shut the company down temporarily. The suspected crime was using illegally imported wood. Not a particularly important crime, yet the government treated it as if it was a clear and present danger to the republic. No charges have even been filed in that case.

In the case of the IRS, the suspected crime is weaponizing government against citizens who exercised their rights as such. That is a clear and present threat to the republic. There is an active cover-up happening right now in the very heart of the IRS. It’s time for a raid, a round-up, and trials.

They must be very confident of getting away with it or they would never attempted something so brazen. My guess is that this is the new normal. Judging from the fact neither Holder or Lerner or Obama
face serious legal problems and the media will curtail if not prevent serious outrage we have better adjust to our new insect overlords.
Oh BTW, democracy is on the way out in the USA. It was fun while it lasted.

Abolish the IRS and permanent ban any current IRS employee from ever working for the Federal Govt again.

Dreadful though this is, it gets worse, much worse.
The IRS finally gave up all attempt at lip-service to the 4th, 5th and 8th Amendments. While most were sleeping, the fancy new FBAR (yes, that is the official short-form designation) may finally jolt voters awake. It's now a race against the clock since the deadline looms, 30 June 2014. Many don't have a clue they're caught in the web.

To file a miserable tax form, that's all, you now have no choice but to apply for a user ID and password from FinCEN, in the form of FinCEN Report 114 via FinCEN's BSA E-Filing System. Huh? That would be the FINANCIAL CRIMES ENFORCEMENT NETWORK (their capitalization):

http://bsaefiling.fincen.treas.gov/NoRegFBARFiler.html
...and lots more....all online, no paper option or written receipts of any kind, relying on IRS computers (ahem!), trusting to the competence of anonymous and often near-illiterate morons and anonymous thugs (I'm being polite). Something for everyone, then. What could possibly go wrong? Better question: How long before the home page is killed by litigants or hackers?

So much is already wrong the challenge is where to start -- entrapment, abuse of process, demanding money with menaces, blackmail, racketeering ... the more you read the worse it gets. All honest filers must wade through many .pdf downloads -- adjust your browser/operating system (complex, each is different), open an 'account' (euphemism alert!), prepare to d/load the form, d/load much amended line-by-line instructions, prepare a form replete with ambiguity, prepare to submit the form, then submit the form, and hope your internet connection holds at every step.

But wait, like the Ginsu knife, there's more: these forms are aimed mainly at offshore Americans and expats round the world, so global connectivity is a major issue. iPhone? fugedaboutit. Intermittent 14.4k modem, anyone? Personally, honest Joe that I am, I'm up for bush telegraph and an acoustic coupler tied to a telephone pole. Where's Maxwell Smart?

This article makes a decent start. She missed the full aroma but, really, you do have to start somewhere:

Oh, and remember the citizen's first line of defense is Attorney-General Holder.

Add this: Intuit/TurboTax won't touch this. They give you an IRS link, then you're on your own.

The raid on Gibson Guitars was ALSO a crime demonstrating the weaponization of government against American citizens and is related to the IRS scandal. Their CEO actively contributed to Republican campaigns whereas the CEO of their primary competitor, C.F. Martin, contributed heavily to Democratic campaigns.

This is yet one MORE example of this corrupt LYING REGIME treating the American people with utter contempt. They assume you are STUPID, and well lets face in the case of the Lame Stream EneMedia and the LoFo morons they are absolutely correct in their assumptions. But not EVERYONE is a LEFT WING moonbat and many people actually understand IT technology which is why the BLATANT LIE of lost emails just will not fly. But if you think this REGIME will drop the BS and turn over the e-mails think again they are so SURE of their IMMUNITY to JUSTICE , and with a corrupt Politically partisan RACIST DOJ like Holder why wouldn't they be, that they will just bluff it out.

Missing emails? Nobody believes that shtick. It isn't even a good lie.

The missing emails have more to do with how information was gathered than the IRS itself.
Under President Bush and President Obama an overwhelming mechanism was created to gather information. This mechanism was fed information wholesale and from every facet of our lives.
The filter to target political or economic enemies is simple to adjust, and used to ferret out the sitting administration's opponents or use governments greatest economic weapon ( the IRS ) to destroy them.

This has little to do with Emails and more with agencies such as NSA gathering information and providing same to IRS for political purposes.

Your government is running amok, spitting on the same Constitution that prohibits these actions. What are you prepared to do?

To be precise, Dave Camps says the IRS said something about further missing emails. We do not yet know exactly what's up with that, as we have no actual document from the IRS.

Guess that cuts out the chances of it being the result of Lerner's laptop crashing. So, either all these laptops have been quietly crashing with just the emails relevant to investigation or a server that had many people at the IRS's emails on it crashed. Someone ought to be able to sit some employees and contractors down to find out if it was every email account.... and when it was discovered. Heck, if it's this widespread, there had to have been internally announcements. That is, unless this is a cover-up. Of course, with the most transparent administration ever, you know it can't be a cover-up. Just bad luck that every email that might have been incriminating has been tragically destroyed. Darn coincidence.
