Susan Rice Claims Bergdahl Served in the Military with 'Honor and Distinction.' Intel Community Disagrees.

Do we have another case of Ambassador Susan Rice lying directly to the American people? The ambassador who used a series of talk show appearances to blame Benghazi on a YouTube video told ABC’s This Week that Bowe Bergdahl, who was released from Taliban captivity in a swap deal over the weekend, served the US military faithfully.

President Obama’s national security adviser, Susan Rice, said on ABC that Bowe Bergdahl “served the United States with honor and distinction” and that “Sergeant Bergdahl wasn’t simply a hostage; he was an American prisoner of war captured on the battlefield.”

None of that appears to be true. Bergdahl’s fellow soldiers are now saying that he deserted his post.

Add to that, the US intel community has built up a “major classified file” on Bergdahl’s disappearance in Afghanistan in 2009 and the circumstances by which he came to be in Taliban hands.

[T]he Defense Department source confirmed to Fox News that many within the intelligence community harbor serious outstanding concerns not only that Bergdahl may have been a deserter but that he may have been an active collaborator with the enemy.

The Pentagon official added pointedly that no relevant congressional committee has sought access to the classified file, but that if such a request were made, key committee chairs would, under previous precedent, likely be granted access to it. Separately, the Pentagon confirmed Monday that it is looking into claims Americans died during the search for Bergdahl.

Who is advising Rice to say what she is saying about Bergdahl?

By the way, Bergdahl is about to get a promotion.
