This smear is so profoundly treacherous, that even the DNC spokesman felt compelled to call out the liberal website Talking Points Memo for posting a picture of RNC spokesman Sean Spicer subtly depicting him as a skin head.

Daily Caller:

Democratic National Committee spokesman Mo Elleithee felt compelled to protect his Republican counterpart from a subtle, yet indefensible attack by the liberal Talking Points Memo website, calling their dishonest attempt to suggest he is a skinhead “over the line.”

Like many other outlets, TPM published an account of the fiery Friday morning exchange between CNN anchor Carol Costello and RNC spokesman Sean Spicer over the media’s treatment of Republicans in the wake of rancher Cliven Bundy’s racist comments.

Here’s how Spicer appeared this morning:

1-6

Notice the full, if relatively closely-cropped, head of hair. TPM used a slight variation of this image on their original story on the exchange between Spicer and Costello.

Why are we obsessing about Spicer’s hair? Check out the image TPM used while tweeting a link to the same article:

1-8

NOT THE SAME HEAD OF HAIR. Not even close. Also no tie, but nice try. TPM clearly took this image of Spicer’s shaved head from an earlier, unspecified date.

Why go through the trouble to dig up an old picture, cleverly disguised with the same background, of the RNC communications director with almost no hair? Raffi Williams, press secretary for the RNC, thinks he knows the answer:

DNC spokeswoman Mo Elleithee agreed, tweeting:

TPM has since changed the picture of Spicer to a more contemporary one, but the point had been made. What’s the point?

That freshening breeze you feel is a gigantic sigh of relief from liberals all over America who are now able to avoid a discussion of some of the issues raised by Cliven Bundy. That fact that Bundy uttered some shockingly insensitive comments about race has saved the left from having to debate issues like government overreach, government intimidation, government land grabs, and the Constitution.

Whatever Bundy has said, whatever he’s done, whatever he thinks — it is all a distraction, as I’ll explain on the next page.

Isn't a racist NBA owner who donates to Democrats more important than the remarks of a rancher whose political affiliation isn't known?

I'm still trying to figure out what Raffi Wiliiams thinks he knows.

As I read this article, I'm seeing a sentence that says Raffi Williams has an explanation. It is followed by a screen capture of the top part of a website which explains absolutely NOTHING. This is followed by a line that says a DNC spokesman agrees, which in turn is followed by the exact same screen capture as followed the sentence about Raffi Williams, except that the second screen capture is right-aligned rather than being centered or left-aligned. And that tells me absolutely nothing about the matter at hand.

Please fix this or remove the article. It's virtually useless the way it stands.

The left's pushing this idea that Bundy is a typical Tea Partier and this is who Boehner is beholden to, preventing his acting in a responsible manner in aiding Obama to improve America.

Given their idea of what improvement means, you'd think that'd be some kind of badge of honor, but no, Boehner really resents this image.

While it's true that winning over leftys is a fools errand, winning over some independents and moderates is essential. You aren't going to win elections by being more hard core than anybody else. You win elections by building coalitions and getting conservatives, libertarians, and reasonable independents to work together. That's not easy, but at least let's stop calling each other names and focus on the issues we all agree on.

sounds a lot like the left is projecting, and trying to balance the right's average people w/ the very in your face (and wallet) commies and outright criminals their present leaders seek to emulate. it looks to me as if the left has a continuing, repeating problem here.

example: lefty leaders get caught selling thousands of assault weapons to Mexican mass murderers, leading to the deaths of hundreds if not thousands of innocent people. to their chagrin, the right doesn't have anything approaching that, so they demonize the very guns they obviously love to sell, apparently to anybody!

its the same w/ all their many scandals, they repeatedly refuse give up info. to the proper authorities. examples are many. Benghazi? got weapons? give up the facts? no. but got some more honorable Americans dead as a result.

dem's reaction: circle the wagons and demonize anybody w/in range.

i.r.s. scandal: give up the info.? no, again. one can only imagine the harm caused here. using the power of this gov. agency to influence elections? that was illegal once upon a time.

dem's reaction: circle the wagons and so forth.

n.s.a. scandal: got the info.? no. but here they demonize the guy (Snowden) who told on them. hitlery recently said she couldn't understand why he (Snowden) would run away from our government and not testify. really? that is so arrogant, lame and just wrong on so many fronts. 'dead men tell no tales' comes to mind to me, and sounds like the lesser (and wiser) of two evils.

this type lunacy as a defence turned offence has really turned into a losing cause for lefty's. their boy caligula commits one outrageous (and illegal) ploy after the next, and they just circle the wagons and take pot-shots at anybody who strays too close. they have fallen to name calling, obfuscation and just plain outright lying as a means of corrupt governing. need $$ for some polit. friends to stay onboard? create some pseudo-science and tax everybody. gifts, transfers, bonuses and promotions to gov. ee's to keep quiet, and never any punishment for anybody, no matter what they do.

makes one wonder just what it will take to get this virus of corruption out of our government.

What is it going to take for the GOP to drop their "Win the Hearts and Minds of the Enemy" policy and adopt the "Take No Prisoners" policies of the enemy? It's getting late in the game to start to grow a backbone.

So, why must we be nice to them?

Why must we accept their memes?
Why must we respond to their slurs?
Why must we accept their agenda items and offer counter proposals?
Why must we accept their politically correct language?

We need to overthrow this craziness in every sense of the word.

The problem is that the courts are as corrupt as the BLM.

However, I agree that the left is busy patting themselves on the back for finding a thin excuse for not having to realize that Leviathan is the government and they are Leviathan.

It must be uncomfortable to realize that you are no longer speaking truth to power but instead speaking the "truth" of power.

Skinhead? Huh? Double huh? I thought the head of the RNC was a rino, which is a very close relative, at least in politics, to a jackass.
