White House Glitched Its Own Obamacare Countdown Clock

Competence. Eh, it’s overrated.

As of about 9 a.m., a countdown clock on the White House website’s home page was saying that people had about 15 days left to enroll in health care — 14 days longer than they really have — which looked to be due to a coding glitch that had the clock off by one column. That is, the clock was showing 15 days instead of 15 hours, then hours for minutes, and minutes for seconds.

The deadline for enrollment is midnight tonight. The White House has since fixed the clock—and as of about 10 a.m. people had 14 hours left to sign up, although the White House has said that people who start to enroll but are unable to finish will get an extension.

Does it even matter? Today is only a suggestion of a deadline anyway.
