The man who accused Mitt Romney of not paying his taxes — without any evidence at all — is now accusing other Republicans of doing bad things — without any evidence at all.
The Senate’s Democrat leader, ladies and gentlemen.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid says Republicans may have helped Russia annex Ukraine’s Crimean Peninsula.
The surprising accusation came ahead of a Monday test vote on a Russia sanctions and Ukraine aid bill that Republicans blocked before Congress left for recess two weeks ago.
Since, Crimea seceded and Russian lawmakers annexed the territory.
Reid said, quoting, “It’s impossible to know whether events would have unfolded differently if the United States had responded to Russian aggression with a strong, unified voice.”
The Nevada Democrat said blocking the bill “sent a dangerous message to Russian leaders.”
Problem for Reid: Democrats actually blocked the bill, which passed in the Republican-led House.
Lest anyone think that Reid’s dishonesty stays in his home state of Nevada, Democrat Wendy Davis recently hired Zac Petkanas to shore up her Texas governor campaign. Petkanas was Reid’s communications director — so Harry Reid’s lies should now stick directly to Wendy Davis unless she refutes them. Davis’ campaign will probably start sounding quite a bit like Reid before too long too, meaning that it will toss out gigantic lies just to force victims to waste time refuting them.
