Top HHS Official Resigns, Rips Sebelius On His Way Out

Calling working for the Obama/Sebelius Department of Health and Human Services the “worst job ever,” David Wright has resigned as HHS director of the Office of Research Integrity. That office monitors potential research misconduct, a job that must have kept it quite busy before, during and after the Obamacare rollout.

The Daily Surge reports that Wright fired a parting shot at HHS leadership on his way out the door.

In describing his disgust with the most gratuitous part of his work that he finds the most frustrating Wright wrote, ”That part of the job is spent navigating the remarkably dysfunctional HHS bureaucracy to secure resources and, yes, get permission for ORI to serve the research community.  I knew coming into this job about the bureaucratic limitations of the federal government, but I had no idea how stifling it would be.”

Wright also wrote in his resignation letter, obtained by Scienceinsider, that he plans to publish his official daily log in an attempt to further shed light on his former agency.

Wright says that he is “offended as an American taxpayer” that HHS has become so dysfunctional. He says that he intends to publish his daily log to show just how awful the HHS bureaucracy is.

Wright’s resignation comes as Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley, widely expected to run for the Democratic presidential nomination either in 2016 or later, said that he believes that HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius is “doing a good job.” Given Obamacare’s awful rollout, revelations about how badly its website has been built, and its terrible impact on millions of Americans, someone should ask O’Malley what a bad job looks like.
