Obama Admits that Because of Obamacare, You May Not Be Able to Keep Your Doctor

Even Alan Colmes is having trouble defending this one. In an interview with WebMD, President Obama has finally admitted that his central Obamacare promises will be broken.

The president promised numerous times that “If you like your healthcare, you can keep your healthcare. If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor.” About six million Americans have lost their healthcare because of Obamacare’s mandates, before the employer mandate has even kicked in. Once that happens, tens of millions more may lose their healthcare.

Now, the president has admitted that the doctor part of the promise is false, too.

“For the average person, many folks who don’t have health insurance initially, they’re going to have to make some choices,” Obama said during the wide-ranging interview with WebMD‘s healthcare reform expert Lisa Zamosky. “And they might end up having to switch doctors, in part, because they’re saving money.”

That’s the most rose-colored, positive spin the president could put on this. Americans are more likely to lose their doctor not because they’re switching to save money, but because Obamacare has driven their doctor into retirement, or because Obamacare’s mandates have forced provider networks to shrink.
